Holter monitor – Long-term ECG improves documentation of heart rhythm:
A long-term ECG allows the heart rhythm to be recorded over a period of 24-72 hours. This increases the likelihood of documenting a recurrent cardiac arrhythmia and, if necessary, treating it accordingly.
In the case of very rare cardiac arrhythmias, an event recorder can help the patient to document a simple ECG themselves if necessary. The recorder can be worn by the patient for several weeks.
